Friendship is a wonderful thing where humans interact with one another and develop a bond. It is built on trust dependence and the ability to rely on one another. There is a certain point however, where one so called “friend” oversteps the boundary of dependence and over relies on the other person. In this case, Lennie oversteps this boundary, becoming like a clinging parasite who can’t function while alone. Lennie knows that George dose many good things for him, but he still acts out. George not only has to

sacrifice a lot for Lennie he even pre plans things to do when Lennie gets himself into trouble.

For starters, Lennie acknowledges the fact that George dose so much for him and still refuses to change. His hallucination even stated George is "such a nice fella an' good to you. But you don’t never take no care" (Steinbeck 11). Lennie knows how well treated he is by George but he still can't control himself even for his best bud. Not only did he get himself in trouble once he did it twice. This truly shows the one-sidedness of this relationship. Additionally, His hallucination noted that "when he got a piece of a pie you always got half or more'n half" (Steinbeck 12). This shows how much George cares about Lenie and would go to lengths as even sacrificing a his own pleasure for him. I know for certain that when someone sacrifices there food for you it means that they really care for you or pity you. Even after George graciously gave many things to Lennie to give him pleasure, Lennie refuses to learn or change even though he clearly sees that George is being very kind to him. Moreover, he does all this for you and you just "stew the b'Jesus out of George all the time" (Steinbeck 16) His hallucination said. This proves that Lennie knows that he is not doing anything nice for George while Gorge is doing all these nice things for him. Lennie is intelligent enough to notice that George is supporting him and going out of his way to be kind to Lennie, while Lennie just takes and takes and takes and repays him in screwups and bad actions. As you can tell, Lennie knows that George is doing so much for him and that he is not repaying him fairly. This proves that he is not a good friend but a pericyte.

Additionally, George is not only being kind to Lennie, he is sacrificing a huge chunk of his life for him. For starters, Lennies hallucination retorted, this whole time "he coulda had such a good time if it wasn’t for you. He woulda took his pay an' raised **** in a ware house..." (Steinbeck 15). This shows the pleasurable life George could have had if it wasn't for the clinging weight of his parasitic so called friend Lennie. George could have had fun and lived his life worry free but he had a unnecessary responsibility witch was Lennie, that he was obligated to take care of. Additionally, Gorge even said himself that "If I was alone I could live so easy" (Steinbeck 42). This proves that George realizes what a parasitic burden Lennie is and the grim reality of the situation. This is what have could have possibly led him to killing Lennie. He finally noticed that Lennie could not change and rather than letting him suffer without him he did him a favor by ending his life. It was the last kind thing George did to Lennie. Furthermore, Lennies hallucination exclaimed that whenever there "was any ketchup, why he'd give it all to you" (Steinbeck 12). This is a perfect representation of how much George truly gives to the parasitic person he calls a friend. Lennie continuously gives his all just to get nothing- or worse than nothing- in return. Friendship is a give and take relationship that should be mutually shared between friends but in this instance we can clearly see that Lennie over stepped the boundary and takes more than what he gives. All and all, You can clearly see who is sacrificing more to maintain this toxic one sided friendship.

Answer:

Here's constructive criticism.

Explanation:

So, I'll start off by saying; sorry if anything I say sounds rude. This is completely constructive and is only being said so you can learn from it.

To begin with, it just seems all over the place. I'm having a hard time telling what exactly this is supposed to be about. Try to organize things when you right, it'll make it easier for your teacher to read.

Secondly, your puncuation needs to be corrected. Go back through and try adding commas and periods (they seem the most neccesary here.)

I would add more because surely it still needs corrections outside of what I listed, but I'll only continue if you want me to. Have a great day!

Filmmaking is about control. The screenwriter controls the story. The director controls the actors. The camera operator controls what the audience sees.
However, one element that is very difficult to control is sound. If a film is being made outdoors, a noisy plane might fly overhead. A flock of geese might start squawking. An actor's stomach could grumble during a take. Worse, the footsteps of the filmmakers might be heard off-camera.
All of these things can ruin a film's sound. This is why films use Foley artists. Foley artists improve film sound by recreating it in a soundproof studio. They record themselves making footsteps and opening doors. They jingle keys in their pockets. They sit in old creaking chairs. These sounds are then used to replace the unwelcome sounds that were captured during filmmaking.
Foley sound was named after Jack Foley, who was born in 1891. Jack developed sound tricks that many filmmakers still use today. For example, he moved a cloth around in his pocket to mimic the sound of actors moving around.
Foley sound recording can be physically demanding. If a film showed an actor running and jumping, this probably meant the Foley artist had to run and jump, too. Foley artist Dustin DuPilka, who recorded sounds for the movie Men in Black, said, "If there's a lot of running in a certain [scene], you have to get ready to sweat all day."
Foley sound recording also requires a lot of creative thinking. Artists go to great lengths to get the perfect sound. For example, in the movie E.T., a Foley artist used a wet T-shirt stuffed with Jell-O for E.T.'s walk. In the movie Ice Age, a huge log was dropped into a pit of mud to create the mammoth's footsteps.
The next time you watch a film, listen carefully. Chances are that much of what you are hearing was created by a Foley artist.

There was no use screaming for help, I was alone in the big, empty house. Whatever this was, I would have to face it myself. The light clicked on, and I was blinded, my bleary eyes adjusting to the darkness. Turning, I looked at my attacker to find...

A gnome? He looked like something straight off the neighbor's lawn, with pointy ears, a little pointed hat, and a portly belly.

"Come." the gnome said in a gruff voice. "There isn't much time to explain."

"Explain what?" I said, still in my pajamas and very confused. "Where are we going?"

"The darklands, of course, your highness. Your dragon awaits you."

"I think you have me mistaken with someone else. I'm not a monarch, I'm just a sleepy kid. And I sure don't own a dragon." The gnome sighed, and touched my head. It all came flooding back. The eternal war, my dragon, the fight against the darkness to save the world above.

"Shall we, Gnolon?" I said, swinging my feet out of the bed.

"Indeed, your grace."he replied. And with that, we set off.

Icy fingers gripped my arms in the darkness, my heart pounded fearfully in my chest, I needed to run but I couldn't move. I struggled against the harsh grip, no doubt I would be left with bruises if I ever managed to escape, I kicked out blindly, connecting with something apparently living because my arm was freed. I forced my feet to move, running down the dark corridor as fast as I could, searching for a door or light anywhere. I felt like the walls were closing in as I heard the heavy footsteps behind me, I sped up with energy I didn't know I had. I felt my lungs start to burn as exhaustion slowed my feet, but I had to push on, I couldn't be caught, I just couldn't.

Something brushed my arm and I yanked it away out of reflex, hearing an angry snarl behind me. I spotted what could possibly be the outline of a door, it was a short distance away, but I had no idea if I could make it in time. I couldn't tell if the pounding in my ears was my erratic heartbeat or the impending footsteps as they got closer, closer, closer. The door was so close, I could almost reach it, almost, I stretched my hand towards it, reaching desperately for safety. There was no door, it was a trick of my desperate mind, I was cornered, there was no escape. I felt the icy fingers on my arm again and finally gave up.

Sorry if its a bit dark, but it was super fun to write, I hope this is what you needed.

Read the excerpt from "The Most Dangerous Game."

Bleak darkness was blacking out the sea and jungle when Rainsford sighted the lights. He came upon them as he turned a crook in the coast line, and his first thought was that he had come upon a village, for there were many lights. But as he forged along he saw to his great astonishment that all the lights were in one enormous building—a lofty structure with pointed towers plunging upward into the gloom. His eyes made out the shadowy outlines of a palatial chateau; it was set on a high bluff, and on three sides of it cliffs dived down to where the sea licked greedy lips in the shadows.
"Mirage," thought Rainsford. But it was no mirage, he found, when he opened the tall spiked iron gate. The stone steps were real enough; the massive door with a leering gargoyle for a knocker was real enough; yet above it all hung an air of unreality.

That's because he didn't love her and wanted to marry a beautiful, young woman who was not ashamed. However, after the old woman's wise words and her transformation into a beautiful young man he came to love her.

2. In this passage the gentleman shows himself to be a man very concerned with the view that others have of him and the choices he made in life. That is why he is ashamed of his marriage, despite the fact that it shows that he is a man who keeps his promises.

3. This shows how human nature tends to be more concerned with appearances than with the content of something. We are constantly worrying about what others will think of us, in caring for what life proposes to us.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

That his life will be better after taking the less travelled road

That he will forget all about his decision

That he will remember this moment and tell about it

Answers

Answer:

That he will remember this moment and tell about it

Answer:

The last stanza is consistent with the others in saying that the grassier, less worn path was the best decision. Also, it follows the others in that the speaker doesn’t dwell on the other possibilities he might have faced if he had chosen the first path. He continues to not regret his decision.

But the speaker seems more certain about his choice here than in some parts of the poem. In other lines, the second path is “perhaps” better, and supposedly less worn, but not necessarily so. Also, earlier in the poem, he talks about keeping the option of returning to the first path and wishing he could travel both. In this last stanza, in contrast, the speaker doesn’t envision sharing with others any of his doubts about the one path being “less traveled by.” He sees himself confidently saying it was a great decision, even though he will never know what would have happened if he’d taken the other path instead.
