Read my essay and give me feedback. I need to write a least another page worth.

When I was young I found school to be easy and often excelled in academics. In elementary school, I exceeded benchmark expectations in state testing each year. In elementary, you stay in one room and are given smaller tasks. There is less demand for math, reading, and writing.

As I moved into middle school and high school, I often found it hard to be motivated enough to do well in school. I was failing all of my classes because I didn't have any motivation to do the work. I often would procrastinate or rush through an assignment. In traditional public high school, you are expected to transition from one class to another every 45 minutes. The teacher often lectured on a subject and then gave the assignment to be worked on over several days. I found it difficult to get started on an assignment with such a short time frame before being expected to put it away for the next day. I also found it difficult to mentally transition from one subject to another within a few minutes. When coming back to the assignment it was difficult to refocus my attention and find my pace again.

When I started doing high school online, I stopped having so much trouble. I graduated with As and Bs. I found that doing online schooling made it so much easier to set my own pace. I was able to organize myself in a way that worked better for me. I could work on each of my assignments more in-depth and for a more extended time. I found that once I was focused and involved in the assignment it was easier to keep working and stay focused. I was able to produce more quality in my assignments when I was able to work at my own pace and time frames.

For example, in my math, I often continued through several units in one day. I found that I learned more in-depth and had to use my notes less. For assignments that I know will be more difficult, I will plan out my week so that I can focus on one subject a day. With assignments that I know for sure are going to be easy, if possible I will do them last or group them together.

Large projects are hard for me to get started on without someone else's guidance. I have always had trouble getting started with writing. I have learned to start with brainstorming using a graphic organizer. It is also helpful to discuss my ideas with someone else before beginning the writing process.

In conclusion, I find it most difficult to be motivated to work on and complete an assignment, when there are imposed constraints on me or if the project is perceived to be overwhelming. I have learned to be more organized by breaking large projects into smaller chunks and only focusing on one item at a time rather than having 3-4 assignments in the process at one time.
