We see many things "clash" in the beginning chapters of Antigone. God's Rule and King's Rule, Kingdom and Family, Sisters, Brothers, Father and Son, and Young and Old. Pick one thing that "clashes" or is at odds with one another and analyze the two sides of the situation making sure to use one piece of evidence from the text for both side. Which side do you think is more correct and why?
Answer:
Father and Son
Explanation:
Both Creon and Haemon come to odds with each other regarding Antigone's death sentence. Haemon believes Creon should set Antigone free, because the people of Thebes "are upset about the girl" and "they say of all women here she least deserves the worst of deaths for her most glorious act". The citizens of Thebes support Antigone in her decision to go against Creon's decree and actually applaud her for it. On the other hand, Creon is blinded by the fact that anyone had dared to go against his word, especially a woman, and refuses to see the logic and reason in Haemon's argument. Creon states, "And men my age—are we then going to school to learn what's wise from men as young as him?". Creon attempts to downplay Haemon by pointing out the difference in their ages, beliving as the elder, Creon is wiser. Personally, I believe Haemon's side is more correct because it is supported with logical reason as opposed to just anger.

Making the Most of Mucus
Just the name itself will make you giggle. It's a great word that conjures visions of slime and unpleasantness. It is perhaps the most annoying part of having a cold or allergies. Mucus, however, plays a very important role in defense of our bodies and our health. In fact, it's high time mucus got a lot more respect.
First, there are some amazing facts about mucus that are worthy of respect. Humans produce about a liter of mucus every day, whether they are sick or not. Bony fish and some invertebrates (snails or slugs) also have mucus cells on the outside of their body. This external mucus creates a protective coating that prevents predators' toxins from doing harm. Humans produce mucus to protect our stomachs, our lungs, and several other systems.
We tend to not like mucus because it is a considered a symptom or sign that something is wrong. We usually only see it when we are sick, and so we tend to dislike it. According to Michael M. Johns, III, MD, however, "mucus is incredibly important for our bodies." Johns, an assistant professor at Emory University, calls mucus "the oil in the engine" of our bodies. Without mucus, our engines, or bodies, would freeze up and stop working properly.
Furthermore, mucus is not just the nasty gunk you see when you are sick. It lines the tissues in your mouth, your nose, throat, and lungs. It also is crucial in protecting your digestive system. Mucus puts a protective coating over the surfaces of these tissues, keeping them moist. Most of the time we don't notice mucus is making our lives better. It does its job quietly, making everything run smoothly, keeping our inner tissues soft and flexible enough to fight off invaders.
Occasionally, though our mucus-making membranes go into overdrive. If you eat a hot pepper, your mucus membranes in your mouth and throat start producing extra mucus to protect you. If you come into contact with pollen, you may get a runny nose and start sneezing and coughing. When these things happen, your mucus systems start making more fluids to wash away the irritating particles. Mucus also has some antibodies that increase our ability to fight off bacteria and viruses.
It's hard to appreciate what is essentially slime, but we have mucus for some very good reasons. It helps to keep us healthy and lets us know when our bodies are under attack. We would be wise to respect what our bodies do to keep us safe. So the next time you find yourself reaching for a tissue, remember mucus is your friend and ally.
What's in a Name?
Mucus is a great word, not only because it gives name to an important bodily function, but also because it is one of those words that simultaneously makes you feel grossed-out and giggly. Other words for this powerfully important human-health tool include slime and phlegm. Slang words for mucus include boogers and snot. All of these words have the same giggle-power, simply from the combination of consonants and vowels. By the way, mucus is an old word; it's been around since the mid-1600s and has roots back to Latin (mucere, to be moldy or musty) and Greek (myxa, mucus). While you may assume that words like snot and boogers are relatively new slang terms, they are not. Snot dates to 1560 and comes from an Old English word, gesnot, and has the same root as the word snout. The word booger is not quite as old but has been in use since the 1890s.

A natural disaster speech
Answer:
A Speech on “Natural Disasters”
Today, when we hear the term “natural disaster,” fresh memories of the recent devastating superstorm “Sandy,” unfold in our minds. Nonetheless, natural disasters have existed throughout human history. Different nations have stories of their loss and suffering because of natural disasters. It is during times of natural disasters that the element of solidarity in humanity surfaces. Floods, hurricanes, tsunamis, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, forest fires, famine, and droughts are examples of natural disasters, which have adverse effects on countries. In my opinion, I like to see the term “natural disaster” as a word human beings use to blame nature for their lack of environmental sustenance. I believe most of the natural disasters are tied to the environment in which they occur, which is manipulated by humankind. In this speech, I will discuss earthquakes, hurricanes, and floods, citing their causes and effects, and possible prevention.
Let us start with earthquakes. Theses happen when tectonic forces cause tectonic plates comprising the earth’s crust, to collide. This causes vibrations of varying magnitudes to be transferred from underground to the crust. If these forces have high magnitude, the effects of the earthquake will be severe as compared to low magnitude forces. An example of severe earthquake is the one that hit Haiti in 2010, leading to loss of close to 100 000 lives, and loss of property.
Floods occur when there is an overflow of a water body. Floods lead to loss of lives, and displacement of people, as well as destruction of cities. Floods result from two waves rolling on a dry land surface or by excessively destructive rains. Floods can also be a result of hurricanes. For instance, New Orleans was destroyed by floods in 2005, because of the hurricane Katrina. In 2010, floods hit Pakistan, displacing more than 17 million people, destroying 1.3 million homes, and leaving millions homeless.
Hurricanes are another type of natural disaster. These are strong storm systems, which have centers with low pressure. These result in powerful winds and rainfall, which cause high magnitude damages to infrastructure and landscapes. The most recent hurricane include hurricane Katrina in 2005, which destroyed most parts of the Caribbean and Southern USA, including New Orleans City. The most recent hurricane Sandy also affected parts of the USA, destroying infrastructure and displacing people.
According to Alexander, some of the natural disasters can be prevented if preventive strategies are adopted at personal and national level. Individuals should be mindful of their surroundings. Destructive habits toward the environment alter nature, which has no mercy when it hits back. Governments must adopt best planning policies for their countries, as these will minimize the effects of natural disasters on its people (4, 5).
Now that you have learnt what natural disasters are, and gained knowledge about hurricanes, floods, and earthquakes, let us have a recoup of that. Most importantly, we have established that natural disasters are caused naturally by hazards acting on our environment. These lead to loss of lives and property, destruction of infrastructure and landscape, and displacement of populations. The level of damage caused by natural disasters is dependent on a country’s disaster preparedness, as well as quality of its structures. Most natural disasters are like thieves in the night, and so it is essential that countries be always prepared to handle these.

Can peoples money and possessions keep them happy ? Argument essay
Answer: There’s an old cliche that says, “Money can’t buy happiness.” But is that actually true? There’s research to suggest that, up until a certain income level, money certainly can have a positive impact on your happiness. In this article, we’re going to dive into some of the arguments on both sides of the debate.
Is it true that money can’t buy happiness? When it comes to the question of whether money can buy happiness, there’s a lot of research out there. The frustrating but true answer is: It depends. Money is a tool. If you use it correctly, it can absolutely have an impact on your happiness.
But it doesn’t necessarily increase our happiness in the ways you might expect it to. More money isn’t going to improve your mindset, and buying more stuff won’t really bring you more joy.
But money can also buy things like time and experiences which no doubt bring us happiness. It’s also a leading cause of stress (including debt stress) — stress that can be alleviated when we make enough to live comfortably.
Ways in which money can’t buy happiness
That old saying about money not being able to buy happiness has been around so along for a reason. Money can’t fix everything, and there are certainly ways that more money won’t lead to more happiness.
Money can’t change your mindset Your mindset has a significant impact on your happiness, and it’s something that money can’t fix. If you’re a glass-half-empty person without a lot of money, chances are that your mindset will be similar even once you have money.
Money can’t buy relationships, relationships are the most consistent predictor of happiness. When we have people in our lives who we love, we’re more likely to be happy. And ultimately, that’s something that money can’t buy.
Sure, there might be people who want to spend time with you because you have a lot of money. But those won’t be genuine relationships, and they aren’t likely to bring lasting happiness.
Material things don’t make us happy, when we get more money, perhaps as a gift or from a raise at work, many of us immediately jump to thinking about the material possessions we can buy. But those possessions don’t do much to increase our happiness.
Plenty of people have nice clothes or drive nice cars but still aren’t happy. In fact, many people use shopping as an escape when they’re unhappy, thinking it will increase their happiness. But ultimately, it doesn’t work.
You could certainly make the argument that money itself doesn’t make people happy. But there’s plenty of research that shows that when spent on the right things, money can have a dramatic impact on your happiness.
So it’s no surprise that having more money — at least enough to live comfortably and get out of the paycheck cycle — can reduce stress. And when people have less stress in their lives, they can focus on the things that make them happy.
Money can't buy happiness but it can lead you to it!
There are plenty of good points on both sides of the argument of whether money can buy happiness. Sure, the money itself doesn’t make you happy. And buying more possessions likely won’t either. But money is a tool. And when used properly, it can absolutely help you to reach financial goals that make you happier.
For some, that happiness looks like more time with family. For others, it’s simply the stress relief that comes with knowing you don’t have to worry about being late on your bills. It’s not the money that makes you happy — it’s how you use it.
