We can see the details that show that was when Layla texted David and told her it was Ashley.

"Internment" is a story written by Samira Ahmed. In the story, a 17-year-old Muslim American girl known as Layla Amin wasn't happy the way her personal freedom and rights were limited. There were more anti-muslim agendas that were being adopted at this time.

We see that it was surprising that the person they were running from during curfew was Ashley. David told Layla about this.
