This continued until the 9th century, and the final traces of the town were removed during the excavations at the end of the 19th century. The 18th Dynasty Temple of Amun, constructed by Hatshepsut and Thutmose III, is located immediately to the left of the entrance of the Mortuary Temple of Ramesses III.
It has undergone numerous changes and alterations over time, partly during the Greco-Roman and 20th, 25th, 26th, 29th, and 30th Dynasties.
